An enigma among gems, offers more difficulty in its evaluation than any other gemstone. You will learn what to look for in this process and explore the many colors available in jadeite as well as its relative, nephrite. Type B and C types of treatment will be examined and their methods for detection.

Substitutes of both natural and synthetic origin will also be examined.
