In Gem ID you will learn to use the:
Refractometer
Polariscope
Dichroscope
Specific Gravity Liquids
Binocular Microscope
Immersion Liquids
Our laboratory workbook with data on procedures and
gemstone properties is yours to keep for future
reference and laboratory use.
GEM ID II
(pre-requisite Gem ID I) will take you further into the
identification process as you learn more procedures for
those "tricky" identifications. Utilize additional
equipment as you examine a broader range of stones will
be with emphasis on the characteristics of synthetics,
assembled stones, treatments and inclusions
